A Message From One of Our Friends

Dear Friend,

Today I am going to ask you to support my efforts with a donation. This might sound unusual to hear a 15 year old as for money online. See, I've been involved in politics for the past five years and in the past three years, I've been online sharing my views on news and politics.

There are just days away from 2009 and I need to raise $100 to continue my political efforts and to continue to stay online. Your donation will help pay to AsherHeimermann.com going strong. With your donation, I can continue to blog and host my weekly radio webcast about news, politics, and current events. I will continue to support the Democratic Party.
Today, I am asking that you make a donation of $10. Thats all. I am not asking you to donate $20 or $50. If you can't donate $10, thats fine. Just donate an amount that you can. If you want to donate more, thats great. Every cent and every dollar will count.

Your donation helps me in several ways. Most importantly, you will help me cover the increasing cost of managing this website. Think about it, AsherHeimermann.com gets visitors from all over the world. Funds also help me improve the look of this website -- making it easier to search, easier to read, and be a part of.

I am different from average American teenagers. I'm a teen that cares about the United States of America and the world. I care about what happens in Washington, DC. I want to know what is happening with tax money and what decisions will be good for the America people.

I invite you to join me: Your donation will help keep me continue to stay online. Without your support and your donation, I will not be able to do everything that I have been able to do that past three years on the internet. Please, make a donation of any size today.

Thank you,
Asher Heimermann, 15 Years Old

Melissa Towe Blog 12/2/2008

Hi Everyone!

I have arrived in Santa's Village and it is soooo beautiful (even though it's cold...brrr). I was put up in a room at the Polar Inn on Candy Cane Walk; it's right across from the workshop!

So we are getting things setup and I want to tell you all about some exciting news. This year I have an on-site engineer with me. Boys and girls, an engineer is someone who handles all of my sound work and he makes me sound real loud and clear. So last year my report was called in and there were delays and I really sounded like I was on a phone, ya know? But this year we will do my report early in the day and send it to the Behind The Mike Studio and I will sound much better, I hope :)

Well, anyway, I have to unpack since I am here for almost a month! WOW, I cannot wait to have some fun and I will report again as soon as I can. Bye for now...

Melissa Towe

Rare Behind The Mike Classic This Week!

Join us for a very special edition of Behind The Mike Classics this week as we re-broadcast an episode from the old podcasting days and we were joined by our friend, Rommey. Rommey is a Lebanese National who sat down with Joey Mike and Vida to give an emotional first person account of the 2006 Lebanese War. Tune in and listen as he tells what the horror was like to be awoken in the middle of the night from the start of the conflict and the air assault. This is a tremendous opportunity to listen to one of Behind The Mike's best and most downloaded podcasts. It is a rare opportunity to come by to have this sort of reporting from an innocent bystander. The show airs Saturday May 24, 2008 at 10:30 PM EST/7:30 PM Pacific.

Well, we are not sure if the world will end on December 21, 2012 but we sure tried to figure it all out. The Mayans believe that this was the day of some sort of cataclysmic event. Were they correct; or did the Mayan carving the walls with prophesies get carpal tunnel? We won't really know until that day comes, but it sure was fun speculating on the show.

This week was very upsetting as Blog Talk dropped us from the switchboard in the middle of the show. So we called back in and the automated voice said that we were already hosting and would not allow us to host.

We finished off the decades series with some time-line discussion of the 1990s. Stay tuned here and our other portals upon the web for important notifications of whether we switch from Blog Talk to our very own net station.

We also announced that Joey Mike will become DJ Joey Mike and will be spinning the dance grooves on WR1R Reality One Radio on the Sunday Night Dance Party. The party gets going on March 16th from 7-9 PM EST. Visit BehindTheMike.info for more information.

And while we were surprising folks with announcements, Reality One Radio simulcasted our show on their station so we were LIVE across two networks and in Baltimore, MD. Many thanks to Tony Richards for the hook up.

Show Notes 01/05/2008

Well, the show was fantastic. Joey Mike is working on the last leg of a cold and had to remain "relatively" silent as Vida took the leather chair and the hosting duties. Scott Bull from the Balamb Seed Garden show sat in with his insight from across the Atlantic. We covered the Iowa Caucus including commentary about Hillary Clinton's Speech, Barack Obama's Speech and some other political notes of interest. Then we covered some celebrity news including Brittany Spears, Lindsey Lohan and others. Our friend Asher called in to give us updates on the polls running on the political web and he congratulated Obama on the Iowa victory. Plus there was a lot more...tune in to get the whole deal.
