Show Notes 27 April 2010

Over the past few years, many talented Independent Singers, Songwriters and Producers have graced our show. The one thing that we can take away from them is that every single one of them is an amazing artist. As a music disc jockey for more than 20 years and a big fan of the Awesome 80s, I also found that I love the music that has been sent into the show.

Tonight, I had a chance to play for you some of these songs. They were not easy to pick; it took Tony and I two weeks to select the songs that would air on the show tonight and they are not the best. Every single one of them are the best in our books.

Below is the listing of each artist featured on tonight's show so you may visit their websites to learn more and purchase their music. I hope that you enjoyed the program:

  1. Samantha Gibb & The Cartel
  2. Sabrina Taylor
  3. Pete Britto
  4. Dave Diamond
  5. Loomis & The Lust
  6. David Homyk

Show Notes 25 April 2010

Tonight we brought out some BIG guns of entertainment.

First, we interviewed John Bell. John runs a very funny podcast called BELLS IN THE BATFRY and it is just so comical. He does almost all the voices for the program sans some female voices and in fact, one showed up on the show with him. So we talked a bit about John's background and how he became inspired to do the podcast. We learned quite a bit from him regarding all of this subject matter and it was just such a pleasure to have him on the show. Please see the link below to start downloading the BELLS IN THE BATFRY podcast today!

Later, we spoke with Americana Singer & Songwriter, Danika Holmes. Danika is a very down to earth gal who loves her music and it surely does show. We talked to her about what makes her sing including the highlights of her life and some tragedy..all of which lends to her inspiration for making such lovely music. We also had the chance to feature a few of her tracks from her debut album, SECOND CHANCES. We loved having her on the program. She is an awesome singer and a pleasure to speak with..we love her and we think you will too. Visit her link below to learn more about her and to purchase a copy of her CD.

Tonight on the program, we briefly discussed some topics in between guests that included Iran, schools spying on students with issued MacBooks and more.

We welcomed first, Author/Consultant John Graci. In this book, THE BUCK STOPS WITH YOU, Graci portrays bosses who are practicing management without a license. Graci uses a tell-it-like-it-is style, relying on hard-hitting examples and illustrations to wake up leaders and get them to re-think their value system and management style. Some of what Graci says will have leaders grimacing in guilt, knowing they have made some of these mistakes. But they’ll also learn new techniques and strategies to replace what hasn’t been working. John put things in perspective regarding bosses who do not appreciate their employees and gave some great tips for how to deal with them and how the bosses should begin dealing with employees properly. For more information, see John's contact information below.

Later, we spoke with David Schiffer who is the Founder and President of Safe Banking Systems. For the past eleven years, David has directed SBS’ efforts on the challenging tasks of watch-list name filtering. This includes integrated real-time solutions, filtering against government sanction lists and batch filtering of large volume CIFs for PEPs and fraudsters. We asked the question, why does it take for a private firm to find terrorists with flight licenses before the federal government reacts? Well, we never really came up with the answers, but the subject matter sure makes you go "hmmm". David's software and services are available to companies to help provide the cross-matching names to help prevent fraud and such.

Show Notes 13 April 2010

Tonight on the program we started off with a scenario called "Urine or Your Out!" It goes like this:

TO PEE OR NOT TO PEE --Words of wisdom from an unknown person:

Like most folks in this country, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes & the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit.

In order to get that paycheck, in my case, I am required to pass a random urine test (with which I have no problem).

What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.

So, here is my question: Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them?

Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their BUTT----doing drugs while I work. Can you imagine how much money each state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?

I guess we could call the program "URINE OR YOU'RE OUT"! Also, just a thought, all politicians should have to pass a urine test too!

Later we spoke with Aurea McGarry, who is a very active child advocate and has a very interesting background with a television show and much more. She is a representative of the organization Child Shield, U.S.A. Child Shield, U.S.A. is a company that services families to keep their children safe in a variety of ways through their program. The program is full of systems that go into place if an when a child is abducted. With a child being abducted in the United States every 26 seconds, it is a shame that we require this form of "child insurance".

If interested in this very affordable program, it covers on a per family basis, not per child and more information can be obtained by contacting Aurea at her website which is listed below.

Kaytee Vandergast

Tonight on the show we had a very intriguing and eye-opening discussion with Dennis Wolfe. Dennis has been in the industry of insurance for more than 30 years and he wrote the book, "The Sick Solution - A Prescription for National Health". Dennis spoke with the audience about how wrong this new health care reform bill is because it eventually places full control of our health into government hands. If this is allowed to happen then what will be next? What else will we allow the government to control?

One of the things that all seemed to agree upon is that the old school congress people must GO! We need people in the House and Senate who WANT to represent "We The People" and not their wallets and purses. It is everyone who must stand up during the mid term elections and make some good decisions.

Anyone wishing to speak with Dennis or has questions for him can email him and ask away. He will get back to you and help you to understand what is really happening here.

Later in the show, Kaytee Vandergast successfully defended her Game Show Championship against new contestant Rob Zaccone. The score was 180 - 165. Kaytee fought back after being behind in rounds one and two. Congratulations to Kaytee and a BIG Thank You to Rob!

Understanding The Health Care Bill

Tonight on the program we brought our first of two separate and distinct perspectives regarding the ObamaCare Reform bill. To help us facilitate that, we were joined by Stefani Woolhandler, MD and she is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School Cambridge Hospital.

One of the things that Steffie pointed out is that there is a lot of paranoi behind the bill and a lot of that comes from the money and power behind the private health care firms. In fact, she pointed out the fact that the bill was based on a blueprint for national health care written by the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts "private" industry.

What we found out is that there are many issues and loop holes in the bill and Steffie is afraid that by the year 2019, there will still be more than 23 Million Americans without health care. How is this possible?

Steffie is the co-founder of a non-profit organization named, Physicians For A National Health Program. The organization is formed by more than 17,000 physicians, medical students and health professionals who seek a single-payer health system in the United States. Visit them at the link below.
