The 15 New Uses For Hair Drier

1. If you need to quickly set the icing on a cake, the air and heat of a hair dryer can quicken up the process.

2. If your cake won’t unstick from the cake pan, use your hair dryer on the bottom of the pan then invert it, it should drop right out.

3. Running an ice cream scoop under hot water helps, but you can also try using a hair dryer on the carton to soften ice cream for easy scooping.

4. Some people use pots of boiling water to quicken freezer defrosting, a hot hair dryer works even more quickly. (Be careful of puddles of water and the dryer, though.

5. Automatic ice-makers can get jammed with frozen ice, relieve that with a long blast of hot air to melt unwanted icebergs.

6. Remove contact paper from shelves by heating it with the hair dryer and gently working the edges up. Also works for bumper stickers and other rogue sticky things.

7. Use a hair dryer to dust hard-to-dust items; the air will blow the dust somewhere else, but hopefully somewhere else that is easier to dust.

8. Personally, I like my kids crayon marks on my walls, but for the rest of you: heat the crayon marks until softened, then scrub with hot water and detergent.

9. Old photo albums with magnetic pages can get stuck unstick them with a blast from the hair dryer.

10. Spot iron wrinkles by lightly dampening the area and then heating the wrinkles with your dryer.

11. Wet boots, shoes, and sneakers can take on a terrible odor if left to dry slowly alleviate that by drying them with your hair dryer.

12. Winter can bring frozen windows and locks thaw them with a hair dryer.

13. Window screens collecting dust and pollen? Blow it back to whence it came.

14. Removing bandages can hurt more than the wound, soften the adhesive with a hair dryer first to ease the rip.

15. If you have trouble keeping a hot compress hot, keep your hair dryer by you and reheat as necessary.

Bonus: For wrinkled ribbons and fabric belts, employ a curling iron to straighten them out.

Celebrate an Entertaining Christmas with WBTM

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Local Internet radio network set to air 5th Christmas radio broadcast

Wilmington, DE, December 4, 2012 – In the golden days, radio was the only available medium for sensational entertainment. Every week and especially at Christmas Time, the staff at WBTM Radio Delaware attempts to bring some of that magic back with their annual Christmas Extravaganza Radio Program. The date this year for the program is Sunday December 23, 2012 at 8PM EST.

“What we try and do is broadcast a family-friendly holiday broadcast that everyone can listen to and get involved with,” says Executive Producer & Host, Joel Michalec. “When the staff work on the extravaganza we all like to imagine that families are gathered together and listening through the Internet or on a smart device. We program this show according to that nostalgic vision.”

During the show, which would normally run for three hours, special guests such as representatives from NORAD Santa Tracker and even Santa Claus himself appear. Other elements of the broadcast include Christmas music, original holiday content, sharing of holiday stories and the Toll Free phone lines are open to callers all night to share with the panel.

“Everyone on the staff has input to the show and content,” says show producer Rich Hall. “Much of the content that is added to the show is very traditional and much of it pulls from memories of our youth. It’s a very good time.”

On Monday December 24, 2012 the network has another tradition for Christmas Eve; each year it airs the original December 24, 1939 broadcast of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” as performed on radio by Orson Wells and the Campbells Playhouse. Certainly not least, is the presentation of 36 Hours of Christmas as the network will play constant Christmas music Christmas Eve into Christmas Night. This is just another example of the deep traditional roots on display by the staff of WBTM Radio Delaware.

For more information about the network, its shows and to listen to the Christmas events LIVE, visit http://www.BehindTheMike.info or call the WBTM Radio Network Delaware (866) 417-4359

Show Notes - 12/02/2012

Tonight on the show we talked about the TSA and their latest bout whereas John Pistole the Chief of the TSA has refused to appear before Congress. First Hilary Clinton and now the TSA. Who do these people think they are? They answer to Congress and the sooner they behave like they are supposed to the sooner we can get back to business in the US.

We talked about Christmas Carols that we love and hate meaning there are certain ones that should only be done by certain people. For example, Bruce Springsteen should not be singing about Santa Claus coming to town...ever! We also reviewed the Top 10 WTF? Sex Laws in the USA. You would not believe that these are all true.

Tonight on the Big Show we talked to Brock LaRobb regarding the citizen petitions now filed by all 50 states for peaceful secession from the United States with more than 700,000 signatures. Brock does not see it going anywhere not even as a citizen's statement. In his humble opinion the voices spoken shall fall upon deaf ears.

Later we talked about Obamacare, the Constitution and the big Twinkie crisis. Will there still be a Christmas without Ho-Hos? We will have to wait and see. Tim Johnson from Big Sound Media joined the round table discussion.

Tonight on the big show we spoke with ASE Certified Technician, Pam Oakes, and asked her about car care. Pam besides owning her own shop also writes a series called Car Car for the Clueless. She told us some horror stories, what to watch for when dealing with mechanics and what the best gas to use. Check out her links below for more info about her.

Later we talked about the possible short-lived victories in Colorado and Washington state regarding the ballot measure on recreational marijuana. Apparently the US Government sets to squash the law before it goes into effect. What about the 10th Amendment? What about the US Constitution? Plus we talked about some news stories regarding animal cruelty. Cruelty to animals is a growing epidemic and something must be done.

Visit Everte's blog and read his opinions and views (updated several times weekly).

Later, Voice of Behind The Mike, Ray Gauthier, joined the show and gave the Canadian viewpoint on the upcoming election. Tonight on the BIG show we welcomed back our good friend Barry Slinker from OldTimeRadioUSA.com who shared with us the details of the seasonal station's 12 year start-up on November 21, 2012 and will run through the first of the year. The station runs old time radio programs during the holiday season. We spent a little time discussing the good suspenseful OTR show in time for Halloween.

Later we had a discussion with Steve Olsher on whether or not you should re-evaluate your plans for a four-year degree. Steve discusses some alternatives that one can look at before making drastic and expensive decisions. Plus we did something spontaneous, the Top 18 Signs You Need a New car and more.

They recently released their newest CD, So Far and it is packed with the best Americana that will ever cross your eardrums. We ran down a great list of songs from the album and also got some background. One of our very favorite bands on the show it is imperative that you grab the CD. You can learn more about the band by visiting their website below.

Show Notes - 10/07/2012

Tonight on the show we did a round table discussion on some news and notes. Bear Fan Ron of FGRN.net joined us as we spoke about some irritating things going on in schools. This included some Texas scholls that have replaced name badges this year with new ones which include RFID chips therefore allowing faculty to know the whereabouts of the kids at all times. This sounds a little "Orwellian" to us. Another thing going on is the way that schools are forcing condoms and safe sex tactics to the children. It seems that although there are some bad parenting examples out there, is it really the school's position to interfere so much? Who really are the parents?

We also covered the first Presidential Debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. CNN reported that Mitt Romney was the clear winner of the debate and we discussed stories coming out from all over with reasons and excuses why Obama did not do so well. Can our President not just take responsibility for his own actions? Does it always have to be someone else's fault every time he messes something up.

Tonight on the show, we spoke with Comic Philip Galinski, who does a very interesting stage show including his live facebook page. He uses the show to explain the reasons why he may be tagged in photos that do not make sense. You have to be there. Check out his page to find out more on his projects and how you can find one of his shows live on stage.

Later we spoke with Leadership Speaker/Author John Salkowski about the book, Nothing But Net, in which he was a contributing author giving advice on how to achieve success and break down adversity along the way. Plus, as a bonus, we learned he has two more novels on the way later this year. John is one of the most interesting people and very enjoyable to talk with.

Show Notes - 09/23/2012

On the BIG show tonight we had some conversation with "Mr Hollywood" Shannon Rose about the many things that he does, has done and continues to do in the world of entertainment including public relations, working in the sports entertainment arena and more. We also spoke about how he continues to do these things while dealing with EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome). What an amazing story. Check out his links below to learn more about him and what he does.

Later we spoke with Dennis Wolfe. Dennis is an insurance agent who really cares about the state of Obamacare and the negative repercussion that we face as a nation. Dennis is very concerned that we must repeal this law and vote for the right reasons this November. First, you must listen to this very powerful interview if you missed the live version and then second you have to check out Dennis link below to We Care because his website has some valuable free information to help you understand the inner workings of your health care and the site is expanding. Show Notes - 09/16/2012

Tonight on our show we talked about how society really pisses us off. The conversation erupted due to a story about a 7-11 owner who was gunned down after giving up the money and demands of the robbers. How can we do this to our fellow brother? It is so senseless. We also discussed the new movie out Obama 2016 and why maybe our President does some of the things he does. We say he is in violation of his job duties as President.

We introduced a "hopefully" new regular segment "Top 10" and featured the Top 10 Weirdest Weapons. Check out the link below.

Kay Stout joined us as she does each and every 3rd Sunday to discuss career/employment issues and we had a great hour conversation about small business start up. If you missed it please download and share this podcast. Everyone can and should benefit from this information.

Show Notes - 09/02/2012

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

On this very show this week, we had to discuss the first day of school shooting in suburban Baltimore, MD. The shooter, 15 year-old Robert Wayne Gladden Jr., will be tried as an adult on charges of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault...GOOD! He actually POSTED on Facebook this: "First day of school, last day of my life. ... fuck the world." How did NO ONE see this?

Later we talked about the Republican national Convention and also a petition for Facebook to take down a FB page dedicated to killing dogs that bark. Really? Plus some great music trax from some great Independent musicians and more!
