The 15 New Uses For Hair Drier

1. If you need to quickly set the icing on a cake, the air and heat of a hair dryer can quicken up the process.

2. If your cake won’t unstick from the cake pan, use your hair dryer on the bottom of the pan then invert it, it should drop right out.

3. Running an ice cream scoop under hot water helps, but you can also try using a hair dryer on the carton to soften ice cream for easy scooping.

4. Some people use pots of boiling water to quicken freezer defrosting, a hot hair dryer works even more quickly. (Be careful of puddles of water and the dryer, though.

5. Automatic ice-makers can get jammed with frozen ice, relieve that with a long blast of hot air to melt unwanted icebergs.

6. Remove contact paper from shelves by heating it with the hair dryer and gently working the edges up. Also works for bumper stickers and other rogue sticky things.

7. Use a hair dryer to dust hard-to-dust items; the air will blow the dust somewhere else, but hopefully somewhere else that is easier to dust.

8. Personally, I like my kids crayon marks on my walls, but for the rest of you: heat the crayon marks until softened, then scrub with hot water and detergent.

9. Old photo albums with magnetic pages can get stuck unstick them with a blast from the hair dryer.

10. Spot iron wrinkles by lightly dampening the area and then heating the wrinkles with your dryer.

11. Wet boots, shoes, and sneakers can take on a terrible odor if left to dry slowly alleviate that by drying them with your hair dryer.

12. Winter can bring frozen windows and locks thaw them with a hair dryer.

13. Window screens collecting dust and pollen? Blow it back to whence it came.

14. Removing bandages can hurt more than the wound, soften the adhesive with a hair dryer first to ease the rip.

15. If you have trouble keeping a hot compress hot, keep your hair dryer by you and reheat as necessary.

Bonus: For wrinkled ribbons and fabric belts, employ a curling iron to straighten them out.

Celebrate an Entertaining Christmas with WBTM

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Local Internet radio network set to air 5th Christmas radio broadcast

Wilmington, DE, December 4, 2012 – In the golden days, radio was the only available medium for sensational entertainment. Every week and especially at Christmas Time, the staff at WBTM Radio Delaware attempts to bring some of that magic back with their annual Christmas Extravaganza Radio Program. The date this year for the program is Sunday December 23, 2012 at 8PM EST.

“What we try and do is broadcast a family-friendly holiday broadcast that everyone can listen to and get involved with,” says Executive Producer & Host, Joel Michalec. “When the staff work on the extravaganza we all like to imagine that families are gathered together and listening through the Internet or on a smart device. We program this show according to that nostalgic vision.”

During the show, which would normally run for three hours, special guests such as representatives from NORAD Santa Tracker and even Santa Claus himself appear. Other elements of the broadcast include Christmas music, original holiday content, sharing of holiday stories and the Toll Free phone lines are open to callers all night to share with the panel.

“Everyone on the staff has input to the show and content,” says show producer Rich Hall. “Much of the content that is added to the show is very traditional and much of it pulls from memories of our youth. It’s a very good time.”

On Monday December 24, 2012 the network has another tradition for Christmas Eve; each year it airs the original December 24, 1939 broadcast of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” as performed on radio by Orson Wells and the Campbells Playhouse. Certainly not least, is the presentation of 36 Hours of Christmas as the network will play constant Christmas music Christmas Eve into Christmas Night. This is just another example of the deep traditional roots on display by the staff of WBTM Radio Delaware.

Show Notes - 12/02/2012

Tonight on the show we talked about the TSA and their latest bout whereas John Pistole the Chief of the TSA has refused to appear before Congress. First Hilary Clinton and now the TSA. Who do these people think they are? They answer to Congress and the sooner they behave like they are supposed to the sooner we can get back to business in the US.

We talked about Christmas Carols that we love and hate meaning there are certain ones that should only be done by certain people. For example, Bruce Springsteen should not be singing about Santa Claus coming to town...ever! We also reviewed the Top 10 WTF? Sex Laws in the USA. You would not believe that these are all true.
